LIAM + MIKAELA /// A RUSTIC AND COLOURFUL WEDDING AT THE MILL BARNS, ALVELEY

I'd heard soooo much about this venue, the hype of this place was massive, not just in the wedding biz, but everywhere. If you want to get married here on a Friday or Saturday, you most probably will have to wait about 3 years. It's so popular, and now I see why.

I remember when Mikaela told me that she had booked her wedding venue, but it was still a building site! She told me that she'd seen the architects drawings, and she was sold.

The day was Saturday on May bank holiday weekend, and the weather was warm, but precarious. In the morning, it rained fairly solidly - but stopped as soon as I arrived which was perfect. As the Mill Barns has some lovely grounds, it really brought out the freshness of late Spring - that 'piney' smell was abundant over the footbridge.

I had a walk around the grounds, and became acquainted with the place. Soon after, I caught up with the girls and snapped them getting their hair and make up done.

The ceremony itself was lush, and the Bride and Groom chose to walk back down the aisle after they had been married through a confetti tunnel, which is a great way to get this shot in the bag. It requires no set up, and looks awesome. This shot featured at the top of the post was one of faves I would take all day.

To see more behind the scenes from the day, have a look at my vlog:

I had an absolute ball, the weather was fantastic, and the company I kept that day was even better.

Once again, there was a bridge, and I couldn't resist taking a portrait of Liam + Mikaela with that reflection!!! I'm obsessed with water shots. Check my other blogs and you'll see what I mean.
