It's that time of year boys and girls, it's the weekend you've all been waiting for!
This autumn will be the third time I've hosted the Malvern Weekender - and I can't wait.
I have been serious about shooting the landscape of Malvern for around 5 years now, and for me there is no better place to have on your doorstep. It's easy enough to climb the hills without difficulty, and epic enough to get great photographs without having the mountains or seaside. I only live around 20 minutes away down the a449 from the hills in Worcester - and I never get bored of The Malverns!
Let me show you around my backyard!
A few things to mention:
It's free
It's a weekend of photography
It's not a workshop
It's not a meet up
(It's somewhere in between these two things)
It's a great collective hub to learn and share techniques and gear
It's a chance to explore the gorgeous Malvern Hills
It's a chance to make some new friends!
The event is based on a Friday - Sunday meet, and we will be photographing the hills at first and last light.
The locations will be shared and confirmed with those attending in due course.
So who is this ideal for?
If you are just starting out with your photography, this will be great for you. Equally, if you haven't been to the hills before, or they are place that you would love to see more of, then I'm talking to you!
Here's the small print though:
You are obliged to make at least 3 of the 4 meets for shoots, as I am limiting places this year, to just 7 spots. Last year, we had so many people come, I couldn't keep track of who was part of the group and who wasn't. As flattering as it was for my ego, the meet up was a little over populated and didn't feel like a collective.
I have a responsibility to consider the conservation of the hills, and with 35 people all jostling for the best shot, last year wasn't quite right. Having said that I made lots of new friends, and enjoyed the weekend nonetheless. The changes I'm making are only to improve the quality of the experience for the participants.
I want you guys to have the BEST time!!!
If you're travelling from out of town, you are responsible for your own travel and accommodation. There are plenty of hotels in and around Malvern town centre, places like airbnb.com and booking.com are perfect to search for places.
I will operate on a first come first served basis - so make sure that you respond to this post ASAP to avoid disappointment.
If you're interested to see a little more of Malvern, then check out my Instagram account for more snaps of the hills - and also my website. I have a whole section dedicated to Malvern which I intend to add to forever :-)
I'd love to hear from you and I would be delighted to have you over to show you around!
The Malvern Weekender mk iii will be the best one yet!
Please reply to amaguirephoto@gmail.com to register your interest or any of social accounts (FB, Insta or twitter) to confirm your interest. I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Looking forward to hearing from you!!!
